Jeep Grand Cherokee: Front Upper Control Arms

A common fault with the WK2 is a knocking noise in the front suspension. There are a number of common things to look for in the front end. These have been covered in this article.

If you get to the point where you need front upper control arms, you will have to remove them from the vehicle (obviously) however there seems to be some ridiculous theory's swinging around about how this is done.

Several players in the online community feel that cutting bolts and drilling holes in guards are an option. This is not how it's done.

Remove the wiper cowling from the vehicle, access the 18mm nuts from the engine bay and remove the bolts from the wheel arch.
