Ram TRX Performance Package

The biggest advantage to the 6.2 Supercharged Hemi featured in the Ram TRX and The Jeep Trackhawk is the power upgrades that can be made without the need to replace or change the camshaft. Of course after doing this performance upgrade one can always proceed down the camshaft route and lay down some significant power but that's another article.

The Stage one performance upgrade that can be carried out to these engines is the changing of the super charger pulley. Running a smaller pully allows the super charger to push more boost and thus more power however it's not a straightforward as simply replacing the pulley. Just changing the pulley risks the vehicle "leaning out" a lean mixture is detrimental to an internal combustion engine and will nearly always result in things breaking or melting.

To counter this leaning out, the fuel system also requires modifications to ensure the power outputs are maintained without damaging the engine internals. This doesn't just apply to these engines but is a fundamental basic to all performance upgrades on any internal combustion engine.

On the 6.2 Hemi the required modifications which are all carried out on the same time are the following items.

From factory the TRX lays down around 750HP with this upgrade most owners gain an additional 100HP bringing the power output to 850HP

• AFE Cold air intake system (this is not essential but strongly advised)

• Headers or Extractors with a complete high flow exhaust system

• The Smaller super charger pulley

• A shortened supercharger belt

• 1000HP Data Matched fuel injectors (you need 8 of these)
