Subaru Forester Squatting Rear Suspension
The SG Forester has a common fault with the rear end of the vehicle "squatting". This is when the rear suspension sits lower then the front and the car develops an uneven seating on the road with the nose of the car sitting higher than the rear. This is a problem that is somewhat exaggerated with the SG forester due to the design of the rear struts in this vehicle. The SG has whats called "self levelling" rear struts. These work exceptionally well at keeping the vehicle sitti

The fault is caused by the fact the the front doors on the vehicle are frameless. Over a period of time people open the doors by pushing on the glass instead of the door handles. This bends the door ever so slightly but the noise is actually caused by whats called the gussets. They wear out and in some cases completely rip. See images These are the little tr

Jeep Grand Cherokee Front Suspension Noise
One of the semi common faults the Grand Cherokee gives, once it has done a fair few kilometers, is a noise caused by a worn out bush in the front suspension. This noise is most often heard when parking the vehicle or manuvering at slow speeds such as inside a shopping centre car park. T

Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0 Diesel Engine Failure
As time goes on the complete lock up of the engines in 3.0 Diesel engines is becoming more and more common. At the time of writing we had replaced only one and had come to the conclusion that the cause for this failure was due to the towing of an extremely heavy caravan. Whilst i still stand by that diagnosis it must be said that these vehicles are designed to endure such loads and the failure of the engine is not what we deem to be acceptable. This fault is becoming more and

Should I Buy A Car From The Auctions?
The short answer to this question is no. However let's unpack this some more. Often when someone discovers they have a major mechanical failure with a vehicle that exceeds the budget for repairs they are faced with only a few options to resolve this issue. One of the most common solutions to this is to trade the vehicle in on a new or used vehicle at a dealership.
